We had a phenomenal trip. A lot of great family time, a lot of time meeting up with our relatives in various parts of the island. Gemma really had a blast with all of her cousins. We got to tour and see a lot of Taiwan that I had never seen before and do a lot of new things all across the island. It was so great being able to share that with my family and be able to hang out for such an extended period of time.

We love the Taipei Zoo! In addition to it only being $3 or 100 NT to get in, we really spent the whole day at the zoo. We got there right as the park opened, and we stayed there all the way until the zoo closed. We still weren't able to see everything we wanted to at the zoo. The zoo is also connected to the Maokong Gondola, so you're able to take that gondola all the way to a great viewpoint that can see all across Taipei. Then you can go back down. The zoo itself has some of the best animals that I've ever seen at a zoo, including some fantastic pandas, some great indoor exhibits. Just a phenomenal day at the zoo, just incredible!

We had a blast at Farglory Ocean Park. Definitely made for younger kids to enjoy, but we again stayed the entire day from park open all the way until the park closed. We were able to see a lot of different shows, including a mermaid show, a dolphin show, and a sea lion show. In addition, they actually have some fun rides, most of them geared again towards little kids, but there was a roller coaster that was overhanging the side of the mountain, and we were able to do bumper boats. We just had a ton of fun. So definitely highly recommended, especially if you have young kids.

We had a phenomenal day at the Brown Avenue in Chishang. We rented one of these electrical bicycles built for six, and we were able to just take it all the way around these gorgeous rice patties that were green and fields kind of as far as the eye could see, with a backdrop of these really stunning mountains in the distance. It was just beautiful, a gorgeous sight, really fun to just ride around and see that landscape. There were a couple of different stops along the way, but definitely worth spending two to three hours in this area, especially if you're moving down the east coast of Taiwan.

We were able to meet up with all of our cousins and family members and able to rent three different electrical bicycles, which each fit about four people each. We were able to follow each other around to different parts of Cijin. It was a lot of fun, a lot of different sites along the way. You could also pick up a stamp book and get your stamps at these different sites, so it encouraged you to go find different stamps throughout and was almost like a treasure hunt throughout. We had just a ton of fun going everywhere and being again with family and hanging out and seeing the sites.

It was really great for us to be able to hang out with some cousins in Taichung. We walked around the area. There was a little bit of rain, which is always a bit challenging, but we found some indoor activities and some indoor arcades for the kids. We got to go to one of the originators of bubble tea and have lunch there. It was just great having a lot of family time and for Gemma to meet some cousins she hadn't met before. They really took great care of her and took her all around. All the kids were holding hands, and it was really sweet. It was really nice to be around with everybody!

We had a fun last day of the trip filled with a little bit of packing, a little bit of saying goodbye, and a visit to Din Tai Fung, which is always a hit when you're in Taipei. We just had a lot of fun with everybody, and we're so grateful for them all to come back out and see us off on our last day as well.

Overall, just a great trip with the family. We're so blessed to be able to do this a couple of times since Gemma was born so that she could meet her cousins over there. We're so blessed that everybody over there is so welcoming to us and always accommodating, and takes us in with open arms. Gemma has so much fun every time we're back there. Her cousins are so amazing, take really great care of her, and can't wait for us to go back and make this a regular thing.
